Overview

The Cornerstone Campus is a multi-functional public space designed to celebrate art, community, and the natural beauty of Portland’s riverside. The center offers event spaces, galleries, and an outdoor amphitheater, serving as a vibrant hub for arts and cultural engagement.

Detail Project

Design Highlights:
  • Community-Oriented Spaces: The center includes flexible galleries, workshop areas, and an auditorium, providing versatile spaces for exhibitions, performances, and community gatherings.
  • Connection to Nature: Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and an open-air amphitheater invite visitors to connect with the riverside scenery, creating a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces.
  • Eco-Conscious Design: Solar panels, rain gardens, and a green roof contribute to the center’s energy efficiency and reduce stormwater runoff, supporting Portland’s environmental goals.
  • Inclusive Accessibility: Barrier-free access and adaptable spaces ensure that all community members, regardless of mobility, can enjoy the center’s amenities comfortably.

Key Challenges:

The riverside location required flood-resistant design solutions, such as raised foundations and durable, water-resistant materials. We also worked closely with local artists and the community to ensure the design reflected Portland’s unique culture and values.

Result:

The Riverside Cultural Center has become a beloved landmark, drawing visitors for its art installations, events, and beautiful riverside views. This project highlights our commitment to creating inclusive, environmentally sensitive spaces that foster community and creativity.
