Overview

The InHabit Spaces is a transformation of an old industrial space into a modern, comfortable loft with a chic, urban aesthetic. Located in a historic New York building, the project preserves the space's industrial character while adding modern touches for a sophisticated yet cozy home.

Detail Project

Design Highlights:
  • Industrial Elements: Original brick walls, exposed beams, and steel framing were retained to preserve the loft’s industrial charm while giving it a contemporary feel.
  • Open-Plan Layout: The design opens up the space, creating seamless transitions between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. The layout maximizes natural light and fosters a spacious, airy environment.
  • Modern Finishes: Sleek cabinetry, polished concrete floors, and stainless steel fixtures blend with the raw materials, adding a refined, urban edge to the space.
  • Customized Storage Solutions: Built-in shelving, concealed closets, and multi-functional furniture were added to maximize space and maintain a clean, minimalist look.

Key Challenges:

Working within an old structure required addressing structural limitations, such as reinforcing beams and managing load-bearing walls. Our team designed custom solutions that maintained the loft’s open feel while ensuring safety and structural integrity.

Result:

The renovated loft is a perfect fusion of historic charm and modern elegance. This project exemplifies our approach to adaptive reuse, where we preserve the character of existing spaces while creating stylish, functional homes. The loft now offers a chic, cozy retreat in the heart of New York City.
